Aidan Turner has revealed he was banned from eating Cornish pasties during filming for new BBC One series Poldark.
He told of how producers stopped him gorging on one of his favourite snacks whilst filming in Cornwall, because they didn't want him to put on weight before filming his shirtless scenes.
Speaking about the new series he told Digital Spy: "It's sexy as hell. I have a nude swimming scene - I get naked a couple of times in it.
"I wasn't allowed any Cornish pasties, 'cos I'd get fat - and I have to take my top off so much."
Confessing he was thrilled when offered the role of Ross Poldark in the period drama, he says it's the first time in years he's tried to play a vampire or dwarf.
"In recent years, I've only played supernatural characters - if I wasn't a werewolf or a dwarf or a vampire or something, it wasn't for me!
"This is a more grown-up role for me - it's not that adolescent fandom, small demographic, sci-fi or fantasy sort of thing - it just resounded more with me."
Aidan also went on to admit he'd be happy to continue making the series following the first season.
"It's about six seasons' worth! I'm up for six, if we make it that far - it's hard to know what an audience wants to see these days.
"We think we have a really good show but you can never tell - I don't think anybody expected 'Downton Abbey' to be so popular... you just never know."
