Following the huge success of the debut season of Shonda Rhimes' Bridgerton following its premiere in December 2020, the series will soon be making its return for a second outing, bringing back some of the fan-favourite characters that helped make the initial run become such a popular series.

Amongst them is Adjoa Andoh, who is returning to her role as Lady Danbury, as well as Simone Ashley as Kate Sharma, Jonathan Bailey as Lord Anthony Bridgerton, Charithra Chandran as Edwina Sharma and Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte.

Beloved actor Regé-Jean Page however, won't be making a comeback as The Duke of Hastings, Simon Basset.

Fortunately for him, there will be no pressure to elevate the second season to the same standard set out by the first, but the same can't be said for those who are going to be appearing again.

Speaking with Digital Spy, Andoh admitted: "I think you'd be foolish not to feel pressure, because that's the nature of any creative offering. When you do the second go-around, there's always that pressure.

"But I think pressure is also preparation, and it's a challenge. And challenge is good. So it's like, 'You thought that was good? Wait until you see this.' So there's that sort of quality to it. And you have a sense of what it is you're involved with so you can take that and run with it."

Season 2 is said to focus on Lord Anthony Bridgerton and his relationship with two sisters - Kate and Edwina Sharma - who are arriving from India.

The other Bridgerton siblings will also be appearing but, just how much of a role they'll play in the overarching narrative remains to be seen.

Andoh was recently seen in the second season of fellow Netflix original series The Witcher, based on the popular book and video game series, as new character Nenneke. She also lent her voice to the Doctor Who video game, The Edge of Reality.

Where we'll see her next - aside from Bridgerton of course - remains to be seen, but we're sure that she will be picking up countless projects thanks to her stunning performances that have graced the screen to-date.

Bridgerton Season 2 will debut exclusively on Netflix on March 25th, 2022. The first season of the series is available to watch now on the streaming platform.
