The 'EastEnders' star is currently on a hiatus from the role, which he has played since 1985, and he has enjoyed starring in 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' late last year and appearing in play 'Looking Good Dead', as well as helping a pal out in his eatery.

When asked how it's going not being Ian, he said: "I'm loving it. I'm having an absolute whale of a time.

"Because it's not just 'I'm A Celeb' and the play, I'm helping a mate out in his restaurant during the summer.

"I'm just doing all the things I enjoy doing."

Adam has also enjoyed being more creative in the kitchen, doing more cycling and fishing during his time away from Albert Square.

Speaking on 'Good Morning Britain', he added: "I cycle most days. I'm cooking. I'm going fishing. I'm loving life."

The 52-year-old actor recently admitted he only departed the soap because that is the way the storyline played out, with Ian needing to make a swift exit from Walford as he was partly responsible for the death of Denny Rickman (Bleu Landau), the son of his best friend Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).

When asked recently if he'll reprise his role on the BBC One soap, he said: "I don’t know.

"It’s not just my decision to make, it’s also 'EastEnders'. I left because of the way the storyline was going, because Ian needed to go.

"Not me going, 'I wanna leave', or them saying, 'You’re going!' that was the storyline."
