Adam Rickitt nearly turned down 'The Big Reunion'.
The former 'Coronation Street' star forms one fifth of new band 5th Story - made up of past pop stars including Dane Bowers, Kavana, Kenzie from Blazin' Squad and Gareth Gates - and he admits his first brush with pop stardom left him reluctant to return to music.
Speaking on ITV's 'This Morning' today (03.02.14), he said: "I hated it first time round. I found it really lonely and not very nice. And also, because I got into showbiz so young, I didn't even know who I was, and to suddenly get put out into the world, it was all quite intimidating.
"That's why when this came around, I was going to say no. But when we met for the first time, I thought, 'You know what, this could be really good fun.' They're actually nice guys, so it works."
The super-group will appear on the second series of 'The Big Reunion' with established bands Eternal and A1, and Kenzie says they haven't had a lot of time to get to know one another.
The 'Crossroads' hitmaker said: "We only met each other at the end of last year, so together we've had about three weeks - days here and there. Obviously, the other bands have known each other for years and had time to gel, but with us, we've had to learn each others songs, re-record them all as group tracks, learn the choreography, do vocal training and everything. It's been tough work and we've been under a lot of pressure but it's going well."
