Adam Lambert is to be a judge on the 'Stars in Their Eyes' reboot.
The 38-year-old singer - who now sings for band Queen, following the passing of their legendary frontman Freddie Mercury in 1991 - is set to be on the panel alongside Sheridan Smith in the revamped series, which is called 'Starstruck'.
An insider said: "Adam was delighted to be asked to join Starstruck and he snapped up the offer. As part of Queen his job is not to replace Freddie but to emulate his brilliance on stage, which he has done to huge success.
"And now he’ll be helping wannabe singers to do the same with their idols."
Show bosses are hoping Adam and Sheridan - who will start work on the show in the new year - will make a "great on-screen duo".
The insider added to The Sun newspaper's Bizarre TV column: "Adam is a talented artist in his own right and bosses believed he was the perfect person to sit alongside Sheridan.
"Adam is fun, lively and isn’t afraid to speak his mind. He seems a great fit alongside Sheridan and bosses are hopeful they’ll make a great on-screen duo."
The programme will see celebrities take to the stage to perform one of their favourite singer's hits.
Sheridan is also no stranger to singing on TV herself, after she played music legend Cilla Black in ITV miniseries 'Cilla'.
An insider previously said: "Everyone working on the show is really excited.
"Casting has begun and Sheridan is itching to get started."
