Nicole Sherzinger’s on the verge of losing her spot on the X Factor panel according to reports in The Sun.
Despite not having appeared permanently on the show yet this year (she was actually only signed quite late into the show), bosses at ITV are considering replacing her with successful guest judge Mel B full time for next year’s edition of the show.
So far this year, the show has featured a multitude of guest judges, ranging from Mel B to Rita Ora and former X Factor winner Leona Lewis. According to a source inside the show, this has been an issue telling The Sun “The guest judges just don't work. It's great for audiences who are watching live but it doesn't translate well on the telly.
"People get confused as the lineup's always changing from song to song.”
As rating’s continue to underwhelm the channel’s bosses, they may even move the launch of the show back a few weeks, in order to claim more viewers with the newspaper’s source claiming "It maybe airs a little early and people struggle when they might be on holiday or enjoying the sunshine at home.”
Last weekend’s final audition show saw the rating climb by over a million though, helping the show achieve an average viewership of 8.6 million, beating the launch of Strictly Come Dancing, which had an average of 8 million viewers. Strictly spiked higher though, claiming 9.8 viewers at one point during the show.
