The Stig
The Stig has long since been a mystery to all Top Gear viewers, and for years we’ve all begged for his identity to be revealed, and not the moment we’ve all been waiting for… Top Gear’s The Stig has been unveiled as Michael Schumacher.
The seven-times Formula 1 champion was dressed as the character during an interview with the show’s producer Jeremy Clarkson, however, when he took to the track later on in the show… his shocking driving cast doubt across the ‘unveiling.’
Jeremy Clarkson wasn’t convinced either, stating; "I don't think Michael Schumacher is the Stig!" Although the presenter had mentioned in his Sun column that viewers would have a "staggering surprise" when the Stig’s Identity was revealed.
However, the real question now is whether Michael Schumacher is the real Stig, or just a decoy stunt to mark the first episode of a new series of Top Gear. A spokesperson for the show commented; "You have to bear in mind that Top Gear is an entertainment programme."
The first Stig was formula one driver Perry McCarthy, who wore black overalls for his appearances, but then was replaced by a new Stig dressed in white when he revealed his identity in his autobiography.
The real question now is, don’t you think it was a lot more exciting when we didn’t know who The Stig was?
