Fans of Sarah Lund are in for a treat, as its director Birger Larsen is set to take the helm of new BBC crime drama Murder.
The Dane, who directed the first three episodes of the critically acclaimed show, has called this “The best script I have seen since The Killing.”
This will be Larsen’s first English language project, after a career spanning over two decades in his native land.
Larsen told the BBC “I was attracted to the fact that it’s written in such a way that the actors talk direct to camera. It feels original and intimate. You’re drawn into their world – you see it through their eyes.”
The shows set to debut next month, will focus around the relationship between two sisters, Coleen and Erin and the death of one of them only hours after meeting Stefan a man passing through town. The show looks to explore who’s the killer and why they did it.
Written by Robert Jones and Kath Mattock, the team behind the Bafta winning drama Buried for Channel 4, the show will star rising star Karla Crome (who we spoke to here), Lara Rossi and Joe Dempsie.
