Showtime's Dexter has been renewed for a sixth season, it was announced on Monday. Dexter, which stars Michael C. Hall as a blood-splatter analyst by day and serial killer by night is set to reach it's Season Five finale on Sunday in the United States. David Nevins, the premium cable network's entertainment head, said in a statement: "Dexter is the best suspense drama on television." He continued: "To grow its audience so significantly in its fifth season is an enormous accomplishment by this amazing cast and crew. This is the easiest decision I've made since I got to Showtime." In its five season tenure, the show has won five Emmys, two Golden Globes and a Peabody award and production on the sixth season is set to start in the Spring. Female First: James Butlin
