Davina McCall is set to host The Million Pound Drop, an extraordinary new game show event where contestants can win, or lose - life changing amounts of money LIVE on TV.
Stripped across six nights, Davina will play quiz master from a highly secure location. Here contestants face the ultimate high stakes game. They are given their prize at the top of the show a million pounds. All they have to do is keep hold of it.
Just eight questions stand between the contestants and their chance to take home the prize. This is played out on The Million Pound Drop, a fiendish device with four trapdoors, on which the answers to each question are displayed.
All the contestants have to do is put their money on the right trapdoor. If they are unsure of the answer they can spread the money across the trap doors, but if the answer is wrong their winnings will fall through the doors and be lost forever.
It’s a tense game. Just one wrong move could literally see thousands of pounds drop through the floor.
The series has an innovative casting process. There has been a strong lead up to the show via facebook and twitter pages.
When the show goes live, applications will open once again on online. Viewers could be watching at home one night and joining Davina to play live for big money that very same week.
Davina McCall says, "I'm thrilled to be hosting a show that feels this fresh and different - I know it’s going to be super exciting.
"As well as being live, each of the contestants will be starting the show with a million pounds and it’s just down to them whether they get to keep it or not, I'm sure this will guarantee a tense and nerve wracking week for everyone!"
