Earlier this month, Samsung commissioned some eye-opening research that showed the British public adore things going wrong, as their most memorable moment on television from this year was revealed to be when Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway wrongly named La La Land as the Oscar winner of Best Picture at this year’s ceremony.
“It’s been an emotional year for viewers with plenty of great TV moments,” said a Samsung spokesman. “From factual to fictional, there have been a number of twists and turns in 2017, and with a Royal wedding on the cards, we can’t wait to see what 2018 brings.”
The “Royal wedding” referenced of course is that between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, with the date now set for Saturday, May 19 in 2018. Harry and Meghan make their appearance on the most memorable moments from TV in 2017 list with their engagement interview, coming in at number 5. They were beaten out by the Oscars announcement, as well as Ariana Grande’s One Love Manchester concert, a whale carrying its new-born across the ocean on Blue Planet II, and the backdrop falling down during Theresa May’s tumultuous Conservative Party Conference speech.
There are some spoilers below for shows such as Stranger Things and Game of Thrones, so let it be known that you have been warned!
