Originally from Maryland, Ashley is the oldest child in her family and grew up juggling a series of jobs to help support her single mother and younger siblings.
At the age of 18 she went to the University of Maryland, bartending on the side to keep herself and those she loved financially stable. It was on a bartending job where Ashley was scouted by the Miss District of Columbia Pageant, going on to win the crown in 2011.
A little after her win, Ashley met Australian real-estate millionaire Michael Darby, 29 years her senior but now her husband and the love of her life.

Katie married her college sweetheart but eventually decided that it wasn't for her, before moving her 3-year-old son James Rocco and 14-month-old twin daughters Kathryn and Renee back to Potomac.

Gizelle Bryant
As a single mother of three daughters, Gizelle is vibrant, energetic and a fan of the social scene in Potomac.
For some time in her life she was married to prolific megachurch pastor and activist Jamal Bryant, but after he was unfaithful during their relationship she decided to file for divorce before moving back to Potomac for a fresh start.
Keeping busy with multiple philanthropy projects, Gizelle hopes to revitalise the city whilst helping out charities close to her heart.
Now she's working on a makeup line geared to meet the needs for women of colour, and she's on target to launch the product at some point this year.
Robyn Dixon
Having earned her education from the University of Maryland - where she graduated with a degree in business marketing - Robyn is a woman who knows what she wants from life.
At school she met star athlete Juan Dixon, almost immediately becoming high school sweethearts with the pair attending college together before getting married.
The couple moved to Potomac and had two talented, athletic sons but, when Juan broke her heart the relationship was called to an end with the pair parting ways. Despite that, they still remain very close, even living together under one roof.
Robyn has to-date launched her career as a publicist and event manager at TAA PR in Washington, DC, which she manages whilst being a full-time mom to her 7-year-old Corey and 6-year-old Carter.
