With the cast of RuPaul's Drag Race UK officially revealed, fans of the franchise across the globe have been discussing what they think each of them will bring to the series, and they're not the only ones!

Ahead of the big ruveal today (August 21), we caught up with RuPaul's Drag Race Season 5 winner, Jinkx Monsoon, at last weekend's (August 17-18) DragWorld convention at Olympia London.

Asked what she thinks will be the main differences between RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and the original American series, Jinkx responded: “The accents! I mean, drag is a universal language.

"I watched Drag Race Thailand without any subtitles or voiceovers or anything; I don’t speak Thai but I do speak drag, so I felt like I understood exactly what was going on, even though I couldn’t speak Thai. I didn’t understand anything they were saying but I knew exactly what was happening.

"So I do think the main difference is gonna be the accents; the rest of it’s gonna be drag as we know it.”

We also got some time with the immensely-charming Crystal Lubrikunt, who told us what she hopes we'll get from the series.

"I’m not gonna do Drag Race UK, it’s not my cup of tea," she explained.

"I think there’s a lot of history with UK drag and I really hope that that’s what the show is gonna show off: we’re more than just a panto dame, as much as that is our history.

"We are Danny La Rue, we are Regina Fong, we are Lily Savage. We have so much rich history from Shakespeare, to the local pub girls, that I really hope that is gonna be quintessentially camp with the clear Westernised influence.

"I have high hopes from what I’ve been told."

RuPaul's Drag Race UK starts October 2019 on BBC Three.
