Withnail: I've some extremely distressing news.

Peter Marwood: I don't want to hear it. I don't want to hear anything! Oh God, it's a nightmare, I tell you, it's a nightmare.

Withnail: We just ran out of wine. What are we gonna do about it?

Peter Marwood: I don't know, I don't know. Oh God, I don't feel good. Look, my thumbs have gone weird! I'm in the middle of a bloody overdose. Oh God. My heart's beating like a fucked clock! I feel dreadful, I feel really dreadful!

Withnail: So do I, so does everybody. Look at my tongue; it's wearing a yellow sock. Sit down for Christ's sake, what's the matter with you? Eat some sugar. It’s been 20 years since the release of the simply brilliant Withnail and I; to mark this occasion Channel 4’s video-on-demand service – 4oD – is giving away the film for free. Viewers have until the 12th August to download the film completely free of charge - all you need now is a few bottles of cheap wine and you’re sorted for a great night in!Withnail: Right, here's the plan. First, we go in there and get wrecked, then we eat a pork pie, then we drop some Surmontil-50's each. That way we'll miss out on Monday and come up smiling Tuesday morning. Withnail and I tells the tale of two 'resting' (unemployed and unemployable) actors in the late sixties, Withnail and Marwood. They’re fed up with damp, cold, piles of washing-up, mad drug dealers and psychotic Irishmen and so decide to leave their squalid Camden flat for an idyllic holiday in the countryside, courtesy of Withnail's Uncle Monty's country cottage. But when they get there, it rains non-stop, there's no food, and their basic survival skills turn out to be somewhat limited. Matters are not helped by the arrival of Uncle Monty, who shows an uncomfortably keen interest in Marwood...Withnail: This place is uninhabitable. Peter Marwood: Give it a chance. It's got to warm up. Withnail: Warm up? We may as well sit round this cigarette. This is ridiculous. We'll be found dead in here next spring. Channel 4 launched 4oD in December last year, becoming the first broadcaster to enable viewers to catch-up on all its commissioned programmes from the last seven days, for free-of-charge via broadband. 4oD also has a vast library of films available to rent and download; all of which are available at http://www.channel4.com/4od/

The free catch-up service is available both streamed and downloaded on the 4oD PC platform.
