Tara Palmer-Tomkinson's bizarre performance on 'Comic Relief Does Fame Academy' has sparked health fears. The former IT girl - who was wearing a pink chainmail mini-dress and stilettos - sweated profusely and stared blankly as she sang Elton John's 'I'm Still Standing' on Saturday night (03.03.07). Judge Craig Revel Horwood branded her performance "absolutely hilarious", while fellow panellists Richard Parks and opera singer Leslie Garret were equally scathing.Tara was so upset by Parks' comments she turned her back to him and threatened to leave the stage. While the judging panel slated Tara, 35, viewers chose to save her. Instead, comic Rowland Rivron, who sang 'Stand By Your Man', was the first celebrity to leave the show.Tara recently admitted she dreads performing live.
She said: "Everyone must think I am on speedballs but I am not. I get so nervous, my face goes red, I sweat and my hands shake. I keep waking up panicking I am going to freeze on stage."
Other stars on the talent show include comic Mel Giedroyc, DJs Colin Murray and Fred McAulay, former 'EastEnders' actor Shaun Williamson, actresses Linda Robson, Tricia Penrose and Miranda Hart, comedian Tim Vine, presenters Angellica Bell and Ray Stubbs and 'Blue Peter' host Zoe Salmon.>Mel is convinced Tara could be a dark horse in the competition.
She said: "She's a trained pianist and could have the voice that makes everyone go 'Oh God.' "
