Bond flick Casino Royale has shattered the Brit record for opening week DVD purchases.A whooping 1,622,852 discs of the smash hit movie, featuring Daniel Craig as the suave spy were bought in the seven days after its DVD launch on March 19.Moreover, it helped increase purchases of the latest high definition Blu-ray format - with 9,456 of them retailing in a week.Andy Armstrong, head of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, is quoted as saying in the Sun newspaper: “We are delighted. Bond has been invigorated with Daniel as the new 007.”The 39 year old star was chosen as the best actor to play James Bond in a survey this week.
