'Coronation Street' bosses have defended Jimmi Harkishin over new drug allegations against him.The 48-year-old actor - who plays shopkeeper Dev Alahan has been accused of taking drugs during a charity event last Sunday (25.03.07). But Corrie producers are standing by his claim his drink was spiked.A spokesman told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Jimmi categorically denies he knowingly took any illegal substance on that night."He had a drink as the event was drawing to a close. Shortly afterwards he started to feel very ill. It appears his drink may well have been spiked."Everyone at 'Coronation Street' is happy with his story."Jimmi - who has a history of drug-taking - claimed his drink was spiked with the horse-tranquiliser Ketamine at the Help a Local Child fundraising even in Blackpool, where he was seen slumped in a corner, vomiting into a bucket.A witness said: "It was alarming and humiliating for a celebrity. But Jimmi was so gone he wasn't even aware.
"It took two men to carry him and a third to carry the red sick bucket and loo roll."
Two years ago it emerged that Jimmi had enjoyed drug-fuelled sex sessions with blonde TV presented, Miranda Lipinski, and an ex-lover of his also claimed he regularly used cocaine and poppers during sex.
