An upcoming new programme will apparently show genuine "Stig of the Dumps" living on a rubbish tip.Ten individuals will survive three weeks picking for food, clothes and shelter. They will carry out duties, as garbage vans drop rotting refuge at the fully functioning UK spot. The reality TV show named Dumped: Your Home Is A Tip will be screened on Channel 4 and will be reminisant of the children's novel Stig of the Dump about a boy living on a tip. The publication later was made into a series for the telly.Participants have not been announced just yet, but station bosses have divulged that they would be delighted to have former Big Brother contestants who have been "ditched" on the British population. Producer Andrew Mackenzie is quoted as cautioning in the Sun: “Some of the tasks may be pretty gross.”

However, Channel 4 chief Kevin Lygo stands by his belief that there is a "serious purpose" to the show - to draw awareness to the huge amount of re-usable "junk" that we chuck away.He said in the newspaper: “It’s about how we live and how wasteful we are. You’d be amazed what you find on tips. A similar show in Sweden turned up a working TV.”

Footage for the production will be made at a secret site this year and screened every night for a week in the autumn.
