Dominic Cooper shines as he takes on the role of Ian Fleming - creator of the much-loved James Bond series - and the show will follow him against the backdrop of the second World War as he writes, chases women and collects rare books; all while living off the family fortune.
However, Fleming is not a documentary, but a drama series. Elements of the story are indeed factual, but writer Don Macpherson has revealed that differing versions of events have been recorded throughout time, and noted that what Fleming recalls of his past should at times be taken with a pinch of salt.
"He was used to fabricating stories, weaving fact and fiction. So he was in many ways a man who invented himself - as well as Bond." said Macpherson.
Other stars in the show include Rupert Evans, Lesley Manville, Samuel West, Anna Chancellor and Lara Pulver.
