With the brand new series of The X Factor gracing our screens tonight, we've decided to go back and find some of the cringiest auditions the show has ever presented - and it's been a task in itself whittling them down to just five!

Zoe Alexander
She just wasn't very good - cringey not only because of the vocals but because of what came after. Attacking the cameraman and screaming at the audience and judges just didn't go down well, and the video still makes us squirm to this day.
Chloe Victoria AKA Chloe Mafia
Chloe isn't a bad singer, but the constant cutting her off and pleading makes us wince. She got through but her time on the reality series was cut short because of trouble in her personal life.
Ablisa
The laughs came when one half of Ablisa punched the other, but it must have been one of the most awkward positions to be in being in the room! The ultimate cringe with this audition? When Ablisa questioned who the star judge was - terrible!
Lorna Bliss
This one really doesn't need much explaining. She writhed around the arena and chased down Gary Barlow hoping to straddle him - not fun and not even entertaining.
Raign
This audition was one of the cringiest in recent history because of Cheryl's attitude towards the contestant more than anything. Raign wasn't the most likeable person but it did feel that she was treated a little unfairly - luckily for her, she got through to the next stage of the competition with sheer determination and will power.
The X Factor begins with a bumper 90 minute episode on Saturday, August 29 at 8pm on ITV.
