Wentworth Miller joins the Flash cast this week as the UK get their first glimpse of Leonard Snart, also known as Captain Cold - one of the most famous villains to come from the Flash comic book world.
Created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino, Captain Cold made his first appearance all the way back in June of 1957, in the eigth issue of Showcase.
As a leader of the Rogues - a team of villains who all hope to take down the Flash - he's served as a huge enemy to what comic book fans know as the Silver-Age Flash Barry Allen - also the name of the man we see Grant Gustin play on-screen.
Third Flash Wally West has also had to deal with his antics, and Cold even served as one of the killers of fourth Flash Bart Allen - let's hope that Barry doesn't go changing his name, or the writers decide to switch things up a bit!
Ranked by IGN as number 27 on the list of the Top 100 Comic Book Villains Of All Time, he's a fan-favourite despite his desperation to do so much bad.
Taking his position as head of the Rogues extremely seriously, it would be interesting to see just how Wentworth 'collects' his comrades in the television series, and many remain hopeful his character will be a recurring one rather than a villain disposed of in mere moments.
Raised as a child by an abusive father, Leonard Snart only ever found refuge when he joined his grandfather who worked in an ice truck. Growing tired of his father's abuse following the death of his grandparent, he set out to start a criminal career, joining small-time thieves and planning a robbery - one where each person wore a visor - which is now a design adapted by Snart into his trademark villainous outfit.
Driven by money, women and his desire to take down the Flash, Captain Cold will stop at nothing to get closer to those three things. With fantastic performances from Wentworth in other projects - most notably Prison Break - it'll be fantastic to see just what he brings to this show.
The Flash continues Tuesdays at 8pm on Sky 1 and Sky 1 HD.
