Fox UK has decided to bring forward its season six premiere date for True Blood this year, with the show now airing next week at 10pm Monday September 30.
This season will be Brian Buckner's first as showrunner, after taking over from Alan Ball who will now feature in a supervisory role.
Commenting on the first episode, Ball said: "I thought it was the perfect mix of scares, action and humour. It really makes me want to see what happens next."
The slightly shorter 10 episode season has now been revealed to be the penultimate in the entire series, and follows up exactly where season five left off, with Bill Compton's
(Stephen Moyer) reincarnation at the Authority compound.
Vampires and humans are close to war, and not everybody's going to survive with the promise of at least one major character being killed off. They will however get the send off that they deserve.
"If we lose somebody, we're going to stop to grieve them, and try to tell the more human side of the supernatural stories we're telling." said Bruckner of the announcement.
Quick-aging faerie children, vampire God Lillith and an angry vamp named Warlow who wants to claim Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) as his own ensure there's never a dull moment in Bon Temps.
Sookie is of course at the forefront of most of the drama, despite trying to stay away from those in her life who constantly put her in danger.
There is also the debut of Eastenders actor Rob Kazinsky to look forward to, who plays Ben Flynn and an integral role in the entire season, along with the return of some characters that we didn't expect to see the faces of again.
