Lucy arrives at Holby to see Michael Spence. She was treated by him at his previous hospital Charing Cross and he did such a great job she wants to see him again. Michael is delighted until she arrives with Julia - a nurse with whom Michael had an affair at Charing Cross .
Faye deals with the day's business , helping a woman, Karen, who has been nursing her ex-army husband, Yann, who has lost his memory. But whenever Joseph tries to talk to Faye she backs off. Joseph desperately tries to tell Faye that Jac isn't pregnant. Faye can see that Joseph is guilt ridden and it hurts her but her only way of coping is to keep him at arm's length. Joseph is frustrated, he's fallen foul of Jac again and seeks her out to vent his frustration.
Elliot has had to bring his dog , Samson, into work. Up until now he's been taking Samson to a dog sitter everyday, but the sitter can no longer cope so Elliot has no choice . Luckily Connie is not in their office so Elliot puts him in there - where he starts chewing her pashmina.
Lucy has to have a repeat procedure but Michael explains that this time it will be more difficult. Lucy refuses to accept this and threatens to tell Annalese about his affair with Julia unless she gets the treatment she wants.
Joseph can't believe that Jac let him think that she was pregnant - why would she lie to him like that? She explains that it was him who jumped to conclusions about her alleged pregnancy as she had not said any such thing.
Michael asks Julia why she is there and she sidles up to him, obviously keen to rekindle their relationship, but he makes it clear that their affair is history and that he has moved on.
Faye calls Linden and asks him if he has five minutes for a chat. She meets with him but needs to do something first. She approaches Jac and says "Are you happy now?". Jac professes not to know what Faye is talking about but Faye scoffs at her. As Faye walks over to Linden Jac accuses her of having another man wrapped around her finger already.
Michael spots Donna and asks her a favour. He need s Donna to work on Holby Care to keep Julia out of his way. Michael heads into theatre surrounded by the three women in his life, unsettled and off his game. He tries to operate but begins to lose Lucy and will need to open her up. Julia doesn't want this to happen but Michael says that he has to in order to save her life.
Faye has a moment with Linden where she explains the situation to him. Linden says that he suspected but that it was just a hunch. Faye wonders whether he knew all along. He says that he saw Joseph and Jac having a drink when Faye was away and that by the time they left together, Joseph was very drunk and didn't know what he was doing. Faye gets upset and Linden awkwardly puts his arms round her. Faye is pleased that he's her guardian angel and Linden clenches his eyes shut tormented by being so close to the woman he cares for. Faye asks if Linden would like a bottle of wine and some pasta at her house? He agrees - still a little awkwardly.
Julia isn't impressed with how Michael has been treating her. Annalese comes into the room and Julia tells her that Michael had quite a reputation at Charing Cross . When questioned about t his Julia tells Annalese that she has slept with Michael. The air goes stale, Annalese's face goes white and Michael's jaw drops to the floor.
Julia is satisfied that she's got her own back and waltzes off leaving Michael to explain. Donna goes after Julia who seems very proud of herself.
Jac asks Connie for some help on a project for her upcoming paper. Connie isn't interested as she is more worried about her missing pashmina. She thinks someone's stolen it until she finds it in the dog's mouth.
Faye makes pasta for Linden and they talk things through. Faye knows that Joseph is a good man but finds it hard to forgive him. Linden advises her not to let him go and she smiles at him - he's such a good man. Faye falls asleep on Linden 's shoulder and he watches her for a moment before covering her with a sheet and leaving her to sleep.
Elliot's daughter, Martha, arrives at Holby to tell her father that she met someone while she was away and that they are married. Martha tries to find her father but is distracted by her husband Ben who seems to have had a strange reaction on his skin and chest. Martha tries to find Elliot but keeps getting distracted. Attention is brought to the couple when Ben breaks in to the X ray unit to develop some photographs he has taken . Security is called and Martha has to explain to her father that Ben is actually her husband.
Michael tries to explain to Annalese that nothing happened between him and Julia but she doesn't believe him. She has had enough of him. Michael desperately tries to change her mind just as Julia enters the room. Annalese can't believe that she would dare show her face again . But Donna has secretly threatened Julia and persuaded her to tell Annalese that she lied to hurt Michael, and she says she's sorry. Michael can't believe his luck. Annalese apologises for doubting Michael and they head to the bar. But once there Annalese spots Donna wearing the necklace Michael gave her, identical to the one that she has, and her faith in her husband disappears immediately.
