Just over a week after 15 famous faces were put into the Celebrity Big Brother house, we've decided to take a look back at all of the antics which have taken place and rank all of the celebrities who decided to put their careers on hold for a summer vacation like no other.
Here are our picks for the best celebrities in the season based on what we've seen so far…
15) Christopher Biggins
I can't quite remember a fall from grace as big as Biggins' has been this past weekend in the Celebrity Big Brother house. The (now-former) National Treasure was ejected from the show after making highly offensive marks about bisexuality, AIDS and Jewish people. The comment he made about Jews to Katie Waissel was in fact deemed so inappropriate that it was cut from the show entirely, having taken place on Monday of this week. People are rushing to defend Biggins and shouting about 'freedom of speech', but the man has villainised bisexuals on multiple occasions in the house and been warned for doing so. Saying that they were the worst when it comes to sexuality and also stating that AIDS was a 'bisexual disease', there was no other choice for Big Brother to make than to send Biggins packing.
14) Grant Bovey
I can't think of a more awkward moment from this series so far than when Grant was being flirted with by Marnie Simpson. The Geordie Shore lass had him in her sights immediately, telling him how handsome he was and how he didn't look his age. Whilst he did act dignified in his response, it was still watch-through-the-fingers television to see the middle-aged man attempt to flirt back. He didn't bring much to the show but did prove he was a good sport in tasks when locking lips with Frankie Grande. Overall, though, he was the perfect choice for the show's first boot.
13) Stephen Bear
I like drama when I'm watching Celebrity Big Brother. I think it's great to see celebrities let their hair down and really show what kind of people they are behind closed doors. The problem with Bear is that he's someone who gained fame through a reality show and so he knows exactly how to play it. I'm not convinced that anything we have seen of him so far is the real Stephen. He's loud and obnoxious and aggressive and volatile, but isn't he just doing that for a bit of a reaction and camera time? It's hard to imagine someone like this could survive everyday life if they acted as he did, so I'm not entirely convinced he's being himself. Furthermore, having broken so many rules he also deserves to have been ejected from the house.
12) Heavy D
'Boom!' has got to be one of the worst catchphrases a Big Brother contestant has brought into the house. I'm talking 'Showbiz!' levels of annoyance. Heavy D is a spoilt brat, plain and simple. He's consistently thrown his toys out of the pram after being rejected by Chloe Khan and somehow has managed to turn most of his housemates against Chloe when it comes to their 'relationship that never was'. After writing Chloe a poem, expressing his love for his fellow housemate, when it wasn't reciprocated he spat his dummy out and called her 'that'. Not a classy move. He needs to be out of the door within the next week.
11) Marnie Simpson
I had a lot of hope for Marnie and sure, she's entertaining but again, she acts like a child. When Aubrey O'Day was having a simple and genuine conversation with her about noise in the bedroom late at night when others were trying to sleep, she imploded, screamed and dashed out of the bedroom - but not before throwing whatever it was she had in her hands on the floor. That's just one of the moments she's made a fool of herself. Remember when she got her breasts out and waggled them in Saira's face just hours after the two had had a big argument? It was close to bullying behaviour and she proved exactly what Saira had said about her earlier in the night - she's a different girl when she's consumed alcohol.
10) James Whale
James had first boot written all over him when he went into the house. He's someone who's clearly there only for his pay check and he was going to say and do whatever it would take to be evicted at the first opportunity. Unfortunately for him, there were much worse forces on the other side of the door. He did well not to turn around and slap Bear, Lewis and Heavy when they were invading his personal space and rubbing his head first thing in the morning, and the pouring coffee over Bear's head that followed was perfect. After that though, he called a strange sort of meeting in which he apologised for his behaviour and said he should know better because of his age. Maybe so, but anyone in that position could have been pushed to do much worse.
9) Chloe Khan
Chloe's a strange character. She's mostly an under the radar type contestant but still manages to embed herself within the main storylines taking place. She handled Heavy D extremely well during his attempts to woo her. She was never disrespectful and cannot be blamed for getting close to Bear. Why shouldn't she chase a relationship if she thinks it's right for her, just because somebody else has the hots for her? If we were all to live to that standard, there wouldn't be a single couple standing together anywhere in the world. She seems to have hit the nail on the head when it comes to Saira, explaining how the Loose Woman manages to stick the knife in whilst coming across as kind and caring, so that relationship is definitely high on our to-watch list.
8) Lewis Bloor
Lewis is mostly inoffensive but also incredibly boring. His relationship with Marnie is so blatantly for the cameras and magazine deals post-show that it pains me to watch, and I just hope that he or she is evicted soon so it doesn't dominate the rest of the summer. Romance, when done right in Big Brother is an exciting and interesting piece of television. When it's as transparent as the one Lewis is engaging in however, it's exhausting. Send him home.
7) Saira Khan
Middle of the road is exactly the right spot for Saira. She's utterly compelling and entertaining television but boy, does she have a mouth on her. When she has a point she wants to make she's a like a dog with a bone, unwilling to let it go until the majority of those around her will either agree with her or walk away from the situation. I feel she has manipulated others in the house to get involved with drama, but I don't think she does it in a malicious way. She may in fact just have that big of a self-importance that she's now at the point in her life where she's unwilling and unable to reflect on her own actions and see the impact she has on those in her company.
6) Renee Graziano
Going into CBB I was a huge Renee fan. She's brilliant television when it comes to Mob Wives. Unfortunately, she's been somewhat of a disappointment in the house. She agreed with Biggins that bisexuals should 'pick a team' and always seems to sit on the wrong side of the fence when it comes to awkward situations and topics such as that one. Despite that she like many others in there isn't afraid to get her hands dirty. She's loyal to a fault to those she brings in close - in the case of the housemates that would seem to be Aubrey O'Day - and she'll tell you exactly what she thinks of you and your game if you think you can pull the wool over her eyes. That being said, I would like to see more. Renee needs to up the stakes if she wants to pull off anything close to a win.
5) Aubrey O'Day
Let me just begin by saying that spitting in someone's food and drink is NEVER OK. Even if the person is Stephen Bear. But Aubrey has really won me over in the house. She manages to air her grievances with style and grace, not yet allowing her temper to get one better of her as she may have done in reality shows she's starred in in the past. She is doing well to win over the viewing public and if spit-gate hadn't happened, I do think she'd be in a strong position to go all the way. Sadly, I think the spitting in food tag will follow her to her eviction and she'll come out just before the final. It's a shame, because she seems to have a good heart behind all of the reality TV façade.
4) Frankie Grande
I could not stand Frankie during his time on Big Brother USA. The format for him in his home country was just not in his favour. He had to constantly lie and scheme and the producers there seemed to use him as their pet, consistently forcing him down the throats of viewers. Here though, Channel 5 is allowing us to make our own minds up, and it would seem that the UK CBB format is really allowing him to 'Shine bright like a Frankie'!
3) Samantha Fox
Quiet, humble and with an interesting backstory, Sam has the perfect formula to become a Big Brother winner. She's proud of her career, her sexuality, how she has lived her life and doesn't get involved in unnecessary drama. If asked her opinion she'll give it, but she doesn't start fights and arguments for the sake of it. It's great to see a character like her in the house as she manages to bring a sense of balance to proceedings. It would be nice to see more of her going ahead however, as editors seem to want to focus more on the younger members of the house.
2) Katie Waissel
I've never been more convinced that a reality show has stitched up a contestant than now. Katie is a delicate flower of a person and honestly seems like one of the nicest celebrities to have ever walked through those infamous doors. The X Factor portrayed her as a pantomime villain, full of herself with an average voice and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini even said in her autobiography that she only brought Katie through to X Factor's live shows for the drama, and because Simon Cowell ordered her to. I feel sorry for Katie and what she's been through because of that show, but happy in the knowledge that she's now living a happy life with her husband in the USA. I don't know if the show will do anything too major for Katie in terms of making a name for herself in the UK again, but if there's one thing I do know, it's that Katie is going to earn a lot of respect from those watching - something she may not have had had she not gone into the house.
1) Ricky Norwood
He may be one of the quietest celebrities in the house at times, but Ricky has proved he's more than willing to stand up for what he believes in when he thinks the time is right. He's a smart man who knows to choose his battles wisely rather than implanting himself in every confrontation possible, and really showed what type of person he was when he stuck up for Chloe following Heavy D's rant, in which he referred to the model as 'that'. He says what everyone is thinking about Bear during his Diary Room conversations, so it will be interesting to see when exactly he'll air those views in the house, if at all. For now, Ricky is our winner. He's got a solid head on his shoulders and good morals, learning from the mistakes he's made in his past.
Celebrity Big Brother continues nightly on Channel 5.
