Ahead of the second season of Hannibal, show creator Bryan Fuller spoke to Sky about what to look forward to in the psychological thriller this time around.
Promising that the "inversion" of Will Graham and Hannibal Lecter's dynamics is a fun thing about the season, he promises we'll see their roles reversed as Will tries to "figure out how he's going to get this prize, which is stopping Hannibal."
A flash-forward occurs right at the very beginning of season two in which Hannibal is found out, and Bryan says that he did this so "the audience know that we are going to land this plane", giving steerage on where the season is headed and what to expect, but not how it gets there.
"It signposts that drama is en route and you should buckle up." he continues.
"This is a chapter of Hannibal Lecter's life that hasn't been brought to the screen in any way, shape or form. This is when he's a practising cannibal and a practising psychologist, helping patients and occasionally eating them. It's one of the most fascinating chapters of his life."
Hannibal returns to screens on Tuesday May 6, 10pm on Sky Living and Sky Living HD.
