It has been revealed that more Brits than ever are growing tired of watching the same repeats year-in year-out over the Christmas period.

In research commissioned by blinkbox amongst 2,000 UK adults, it has been claimed that 43% of us will be switching to 'on demand' television and movies rather than putting up with what's on offer over the hundreds of channels available, as a whopping 80% of those questioned are 'fed up' with the amount of repeats broadcast.

blinkbox have predicted that Boxing Day will be he biggest day of the year for different services who offer 'on demand' services, and the surge is expected to be fuelled by the pre-Christmas sales of tablets including Tesco's Hudl and Apple's iPad.

“The fight to be the entertainment hub is really heating up and fans of great entertainment have never had it so good,” comments Michael Comish, Group Digital Officer at Tesco and co-founder of blinkbox.
