As Big Brother Canada continues with its landmark tenth season, we continue to chat to the unlucky Houseguests who have been evicted. This week, we chat with third evictee Stephanie Paterson all about why she thinks she was blindsided, Kyle’s “emotional” HOH and more!

What were some of your first thoughts when you entered the House, seeing the new design and all of those mysterious doors?

First thoughts were, ‘the house is stunning!’ I love bright lights and I love flashy colours and sparkles, so I was absolutely obsessed with the theme right away. But when I saw all the different doors and the money signs, the door that had hours counting down, there were so many questions left unanswered and the speculation that went on was just out of this world.

Do you have any guesses as to what may be lying behind some of the other doors this season?

I think that there will be some big twists! It’s Season 10 so I’m expecting some big twist to happen. I think beneath some of those doors there’s definitely a ‘Have Not’ room, I know we were all anticipating a ‘Have Not’ room, we were wondering when it was gonna be! I think the phone room will be used as a ‘chance’, or ‘high risk, high reward’ type situation. If you pick up the phone, is it really gonna be worth it? ‘Should I just sit back?’ I can’t wait to see it all unfold and see what those doors really hold.

You've had a little bit of time to digest your eviction, so how are you feeling today about the entire BBCAN experience?

Overall, after I’ve had time to think about it, I’m feeling pretty great about the experience. It was one I will never experience again and one like I’ve never had before. It was amazing and truly eye-opening. It sucks the way I left! I did not expect to leave in a blindside, but everything happens for a reason. It is what it is and I had an amazing time in that house.

You looked shocked when the vote was read by Arisa, do you feel betrayed by your fellow houseguests?

I do! I was very honest and upfront with all of them and maybe I’m too trusting of a person and I expected a little bit in return. I don’t know if it would’ve been better to tell me an hour before because, I may have had another blow-up, who knows, but I do feel betrayed by them. It’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the season pans out and, how they play individually and together.

Why do you think you were ultimately sent home over Josh this week?

I think I was sent home over Josh this week as collateral damage in Kyle’s very messy, emotional HOH. I don’t think the house necessarily wanted to get me out, but beside Josh, it just made more sense because he was a bigger part of something that I wasn’t a part of, and the house saw me as just easy to get back at Kyle and let him know, ‘hey, your game isn’t everything you think it’s gonna be, it’s blown up in your face and Steph is that blow-up.’

Can you tell us a little bit about the work you put in to try and stay in the House this week?

From the second I knew I was nominated I was planting seeds in people’s ears. I then, when Moose took himself off the block and won that POV, I was still planting seeds in people’s ears saying, ‘hey, I’m still on the block, this is where I’m at’, to when I found out it was gonna be Josh, it didn’t change. My pitch changed from when I thought I was going up against Betty, it was a pretty different pitch and pretty hard to campaign against him, but I did not stop until the second before that vote was cast. I tried my absolute best but that vote was days in the making and I was two steps behind.

If Moose had stayed on the block, do you think you'd still be sat here now?

I definitely think Moose would’ve left this week. He blew up his entire game. He took his safety Week 1 for granted and the information he learned, he just ran his mouth with it. I think the house would’ve definitely wanted him out because of the blow in his game and how truthful and honest I was with anybody. I don’t think I caused any rifts so I don’t think I would’ve been out this week.

Had you stayed in the house and won HOH, tell us a little bit about how you would've liked this next week to have played out.

I definitely would’ve loved to give Kyle a taste of his money. I would’ve loved to have used him as a pawn and used a chess analogy on him since he’s such a big chess guy. But, I also would’ve loved to put a strong, strategic player up with Summer. It’s gonna be hard to get her out, I think she’s playing an awesome game but, as a gamer in that house you need the strong people out.

Who do you hope to keep in touch with when this season comes to a close?

I definitely wanna keep in touch with Jacey-Lynne, Hermon, everyone really, Tynesha especially. They’re all such sweet individuals - mind you they blindsided me! - but they’re sweet individuals. They have a lot to offer and they’re all such great people. We bonded over something a lot of people can’t say they’ve done, so I definitely wanna keep in touch with, I’d say all of them.

Finally, has anybody in that house shown you that they've got what it takes to go all the way and win?

Summer! She’s ruthless, playing a very smart social game, she’s very strategic. She is everywhere in a house where too much is going on at once, she’s everywhere, she’s got it.
