We're two weeks into the fifth season of Big Brother Canada, which has brought eight newbies and eight veteran players together to duke it out for the grand prize, and now the second eviction of the new season has taken place, with Season 4 veteran Dallas Cormier sent packing.
We got the opportunity to put some questions to Dallas about his time in the house, who he'd send home next, his dream final three and more. Find out what he had to say below...
How do you feel now you’ve had a little time to reflect on the past two weeks?
I mean, it was short and sweet, I definitely wish I could have played the game a little longer, but I think anybody who gets evicted this early feels the same way. It was a great experience to share the stage with some iconic vets and meet some lifelong friends with some newbies. I didn’t win the game but I definitely tried to be as entertaining as possible.
Why do you think you were evicted this week?
I strongly believe it has to do with the trickle effect. I was on the wrong side of the vote last week, there was a 1 in 7 chance Demetres was gonna win HoH this week and sure enough he did. It didn’t stop there; Dillon and Emily get put on the block, Dillon takes himself off the block, so that’s when it was the beginning of the end for myself, just being associated with Dillon and Emily, I really feel like it put a target on my back very early inside this game. I thought I had a fall-back plan; not so much a fall-back plan, but I thought I had the vets still together, that I’d be OK in this situation. The vets could have kept me safe this week along if they’d wanted to, plus a couple of newbies. It’s extremely unfortunate that voting on the wrong side week 1 was the beginning of the end for myself.
How would you have played the game if you were given the immunity pass to Jury?
Oh man, get your popcorn ready, I definitely would have been so much more entertaining. I definitely would have probably been one of the cockiest people inside the house to ever play. I definitely would have walked around like there was an ‘S’ on my chest, I definitely would have given the fans what they wanted. I’m very happy for Neda because she is a strategic beast; she’s renowned as one of the best players to play the game in BBCAN history, so I am happy for her. I’m pretty sure she’ll set herself up really nicely throughout these weeks with some good deals and make sure the jury is in her best favour, because if she does go to the end, she definitely got a big, big, big twist in her favour.
If nominations had stayed the same, who do you think would have gone home and why?
I honestly feel like Dillon would have went home like I said. If there’s a big, strong, physical player sitting next to a female player who isn’t intimidating or looks like she’s a comp beast, or isn’t very strategic, 9 times out of 10 that big physical player goes home. Nothing against Emily, but she’s just there to be there. She’s funny, I get that, her personality’s pretty cool, but strategically, competition-wise, I don’t think she’s gonna bring that much to the table.
If you could go back in and play again this season, how would you play differently?
Well, I definitely would have just listened to Cass and voted… I thought the house flipped to keep Mark, but they definitely didn’t, the numbers weren’t there. I should have physically counted in my head, I should have listened to Cass, because she told me the numbers were there for her side. I think I made more an emotional decision versus a strategic one, considering it was me and Mark on that first HoH together. I felt really bad that he got put up in that situation because there was a deal placed with me, Karen, Sindy and Mark; if we jump off ‘you guys gonna keep us safe’. Karen didn’t keep up her end of the bargain, so it’s just extremely unfortunate.
What do you make of the twists already happening this season?
I mean, it is what it is. Big Brother Canada, they always have a couple crazy twists to throw at you. You’ve gotta expect that the game isn’t just gonna be 16 people, strategically set it up, some things you just can’t predict. Neda’s definitely a player where she will use that twist to her advantage, she’ll build some strong relationships and, it’s a very interesting twist, and I’m sure Big Brother has a few more left up their sleeve.
Who would you like to see evicted next and why?
I wouldn’t mind either seeing Sindy with an ‘S’ being evicted next, Karen, Kevin and Bruno; that posse there. It has no preference to me right now, as long as it’s not Cass, Ika, Gary, Dre, Will or Gary; they can all go.
What are some of your highlights from your time in the house?
Well, it was definitely short and sweet, but we had a couple cool parties inside the house. We had a couple twerk-offs, if you will. There was a lot of intense moments this season, I feel like a lot of the players came in blazing, myself included. I feel like we played six weeks of the game just in two weeks’ period total. It was a pressure cooker in there. I’d say that my biggest highlight was maybe just walking down the stairs and seeing my favourite player ever to play, Kevin Martin down there. I was definitely eager to play with the guy; he definitely didn’t have the same intentions though.
Make an early prediction – who’s going to make it to final 3 and why?
This is my dream, OK. This would be my dream final 3 – Gary, Cass and Ika would be my dream final three. Who I really think will make it to the end, it’ll probably be Neda, I’m gonna throw Jackie in there, and probably Ika. I’m leaving Cass out of this because I think I left a big target on her back; well, maybe she left a big target on her back campaigning so hard for me, being associated with me. She’s gonna have an uphill battle to climb. She needed a male figure to win her some competitions and keep her safe, but she can socially get herself out of some situations.
