Bear Grylls: Mission Survive returns for a second series on March 3, seeing seven new celebrities compete on a 12-day survival expedition in the wilds of Southern Africa, which will push them to both their psychological and physical limits.

Confronting more terrifying challenges than ever before such as surviving dangerous animals, facing high-octane survival scenarios and travelling further across the mountains and down the coast, the celebs will face ever-changing weather conditions including burning heat from the harsh African sun, to torrential rain and bitterly cold nights.

But who's taking part this year? Take a look...

Being team captain at Arsenal, Alex thinks she'll be fine with the rest of the group in the show, and says: "I know how to lead situations, but I also like to listen to people's opinions and jointly come to one conclusion." She says she might help to raise spirits because of her energetic personality, but admits her "weakness will probably be the fact I'm frightened of heights!"

After kayaking down the Zambezi River two years back for Comic Relief, Chelsee knows a little bit of what to expect from the pressures she'll be facing on Mission Survive. She said: "I think because of my age, I do stuff without realising quite how dangerous it is. I give everything a go without a second thought. So I think that mind set will help me a lot. My weakness will be freaking out about creepie crawlies. I don't like them."

Jason Gardiner

"On paper, it looks very daunting," says Jason ahead of his trip to Southern Africa. Commenting that he's a "natural leader", he says: "I've worked with some major divas in my time, I can cope with those!" He thinks that his day job will help him because he's "in touch" with how his body works, and says "I've got to imagine this is real" if he's going to get through the experience.

Michelle Collins

Scared of water, heights, confined spaces and eating meat, Michelle has been a vegetarian for most of her life and so could face some tough decisions in the series. She says: "I don't give up easily. I'm certainly not a lazy person. I'm 53 so I'm one of the oldest but I'd like to prove women like me can go out and do that stuff. I think it's showing people we're still strong and we can still do it."

Neil Morrissey

Joking that he's prepared because he's been to Glastonbury twice, Neil says that he "can cook on anything" that gives him heat and notes that having built a camp fire before, it shouldn't be too difficult this time round. He continues: "I'm a 'glass half full' sort of person. I like to find a solution and come up with ideas, and I'm reasonably level-headed."

Samantha Barks

"Attracted to the idea of pushing yourself beyond anything you've ever known," Samantha is going from an Oscar-nominated movie to Mission Survive and couldn't be more excited about the process. "I'm just going to keep a strong head and be as positive as I can," she says. "I like learning and pushing myself."

Stuart Pearce

After doing a five day long Bear Grylls survival course in the past, Stuart's already learned to build shelters, skin rabbits and cook on a fire. He says: "My mentality is this - I just want to experience every day. I don't want to go out early. I'm not hell bent on winning but I would like to get to the end. I'd like to do the duration, but not at any cost. I'll do my best and I'll help others."

Bear Grylls: Mission Survive starts Thursday 3rd March at 9pm on ITV.
