Getting back from your travels not only leaves you with those dreaded holiday blues but the long journey and time away can give you terrible jetlag. A change in sleeping patterns or a lack of sleep can also contribute to how difficult it is for some people to settle into their normal routine. But, fear not, Zeo Sleep Manager Pro+ teamed with the Zeo app (available on iOS and Android devices) is at hand to help you take charge of your post-holiday sleep.
Zeo is the first range of sleep management devices in the world that help you discover and unlock the power of restorative sleep.
The Zeo Sleep Manager Pro+ device is connected using the latest technology to tell you how you slept by allowing you to track and improve the quality of your sleep on your smartphone. Zeo Sleep Manager Pro+ uses the same SoftWave technology used in the Zeo Bedside device to enable you to get the highest quality sleep measurement system available. A comfortable and highly accurate Zeo Softwave TM headband tracks your sleep stages throughout the night and then transfers your sleep data wirelessly to your smart phone.
The app allows users to monitor how their patterns change and even provides advice about how to get a better night’s rest – a definite plus if you’re recovering from a holiday where there was a significant time difference.
Zeo works by using the accelerometer within the app on your smart phone to measure and draw up results about how long you were awake and asleep during the night. It breaks down the way you sleep into four main stages; Wake, REM, Light and Deep. Each stage of sleep does something different for the body, but when combined they form the necessary recipe for healthy living.
In the morning, Zeo shows you how much time you spent in each stage of sleep throughout the night and gives you a real, timed sleep graph with your sleep patterns. You can then compare your nightly Zeo sleep score to your age group, personal target and learn how to improve your sleep.
When I first tried the Zeo Sleep Manager Pro+, on return from a mini-break away, I found the colour coded sleep stage chart to be informative and helpful in allowing me to track my sleeping patterns and pinpoint what may have caused specific problems. For example, my ‘wake’ and ‘Time to Z’ data was marked ‘great’ but the app signaled that I could improve my ‘REM’ and ‘Deep’ sleep and that my ‘Total Sleep’ needs work.
Zeo Sleep Manager Pro+ is especially handy because as well as telling you if you’re sleeping well or not, it provides you with advice about how to improve your sleeping routine. For example, the app advised me on various areas to improve on my Total sleep. It suggested things such as ‘Manage jetlag’, which advised me on what to do, to get in control of my sleeping patterns, depending on whether I have travelled back from the east or west.
It also advised on avoiding caffeine and alcohol. There was much more advice under other tabs like ‘Night shifting’, ‘Clean your room’, ‘When not to nap’ and ‘Guided relaxation’ to name a few. This quickstep non-nonsense advice is informative, beneficial and can really be a pick-me up to kick-start you into getting that post-holiday sleep routine in check.
Sleep is key to health, wellness, cell growth, memory formation, mental agility, physical performance, peace of mind - you name it and sleep can improve it.
Don’t let your body clock be ruined by your travels and to really make the most of your post-holiday sleep, you can upload your data to Zeo’s website (myzeo.co.uk) which will then help you devise a personalized sleep coaching programme. This will help to manage the impact of your lifestyle on your sleep, where things like caffeine, alcohol, stress, bedtime and bedroom environment can have a huge effect.
If you suffer from jetlag or you’re looking for a gadget to monitor and advise on your sleeping routine but don’t want something too complex to use, then Zeo Sleep Manager Pro+ would be the right choice.
Zeo Sleep Manager Pro+ is priced from £119 and available to buy from www.myzeo.co.uk
