It's officially the wettest summer since records began and new research released today has estimated that over 3 million Britons are actually so fed up with the weather's whims they are planning to emigrate.
With the period from April to June seeing the most rainfall since 1910 it's no wonder that holed up at home weather depression has set in. One in five of us admitting to lying to friends to avoid having to leave the house to meet up, and one in 20 have paid others to do jobs we'd normally do ourselves such as gardening and walking the dog.
The research by Alpro also found that the nation’s eating and exercise habits have been severely affected by the poor summer, with more than half of respondents bingeing on junk food to try and make themselves feel better. Women were found to be the worst offenders, with more than six out of 10 admitting turning to the biscuit barrel, chocolate and fast food takeaways more often than usual in a bid to take away the rainy day blues.
In a bid to boost the nation Saturday's singer and newlywed Una Healy has come up with her top tips for banishing those blues, using colour, scent, plant power and more, whilst retaining a sense of summer.
