Online travel prices are more than 60 per cent cheaper than high street travel agents, according to new research from On the Beach.
Web-savvy customers are benefitting by getting more holiday for their money by searching online for the best travel deals, as opposed to going into the travel agents on the high street.
The research conducted by On the Beach shows its holidays to the popular resort of the Algarve offer the greatest savings, followed by destinations such as Egypt, Cyprus and Greece all averaging savings of 50 per cent.
Alistair Daly, Chief Marketing Officer at On the Beach said: “We believe that our research is proof that the high street is a long way off beating online agents in terms of price.”
In order to give holidaymakers the best chance of securing early booking discounts, On the Beach has also introduced a new deposit scheme allowing customers booking their holidays six months in advance to secure hotels for just £1 per person, in addition to the deposit for their flight.
Customers can then pay the remainder of their holiday just 28 days before departing; helping to spread the cost over a period of months.
The new deposit scheme also allows customers who are departing within six months to secure their hotels for just £1, along with full payment of the flight; with the remaining costs due 28 days before departure.
Alistair added: “Our new deposit scheme will no doubt be a welcome relief to those wanting to book their summer holiday early but are still feeling the pinch after Christmas.”
