Young people are now travelling to more exotic places

ABTA's research shows that people aged between 15-24 took 4.7 breaks this year, up from 4.5 last year, while those aged between 25 and 34 years old took 4.5 breaks in 2012, compared with four last year – a generation TravelSupermarket.com has dubbed Generation FLY.

TravelSupermarket’s travel expert, Bob Atkinson, said: “Younger generations are definitely getting more adventurous with their holiday destinations than in previous years. If you’ve just finished school or university, there is no better time to go and experience the world.

"The rise of cheaper package deals through the introduction of low-cost flights has boosted the demand for holidays among Generation FLY and this generation is not restricted to the classic Club 18-30 destinations of yesteryear such as Ibiza.
