Research has found today that over one third of Brits have lost their entire holiday’s memories by saving them all on their phones. Snapbox revealed that 10% of Brits drop their phone down the toilet and so lose all their precious holiday snaps. 4% of these were drunk and 8% were in the bath at the time of the offence.

Brits are also more likely to lose their photos from dropping or damaging their phones, forming a huge 28% of the total, which could be avoided if they only backed up their pics or printed them off at home. Given the sheer quantity of photos stored on devices such as smartphones people are finding it increasingly hard to choose from their selection and display specific ones in their homes (19%).

18-24 years old are most likely to store their photos on their phones, with a mere 8% still choosing to store them in the traditional photo albums, whereas as 26% of over 55s still opt for this method of storing their memories. It would appear that smart phones have completely revolutionised the way we view and keep pictures.

John Doe at SnapBox comments on the research; “There is a whole generation of people who are relying on smartphones to capture and save all of their memories. Photos are all too often gathering virtual dust on phones and social media where no one can enjoy them. We’re hoping this research raises awareness that a smartphone is an unreliable way to store precious photos, especially for those who are particularly accident prone. People need to start making their memories count!

“Imagine losing the irreplaceable snaps of your baby’s first steps or best friend’s wedding, these are memories you can’t go back and relive. Don’t let your friends and family become a JPEG, display your memories with pride for all to see”, advises Doe.

To combat this problem SnapBox take pictures from Facebook and Instagram and turn them into high quality prints so that your memories are not just a flush away!
