Ever since I watched Jonathan Creek as a teenager (and bought myself the dvd box set in last year's January sales) I have always wanted to live in a windmill….
Whilst I know that's probably never going to happen, I have now set my sights on saving up for this whole year and treating myself to a windmill holiday in 2012.… so over the next week or two, I'm going to share with you my favourite windmills on the web.
Lauzun
A unique self-catering, romantic 1 Bedroom property perfect for couples. Le Moulin de Brisseaux is delightful, romantic windmill full of character with beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls, nooks and crannies.
This 1 bedroom windmill is perfect for couples and honeymooners and is only a 5 minutes walk from the centre of the village with grocery store and Bar/Pizzeria. It has spectacular views over a vineyard towards a Chateau and is only 20 minutes south of the Dordogne River.
Ground Floor: Fully fitted and equipped kitchen/diner and shower room/toilet. First floor: Romantic Double bedroom, washbasin and under stairs wardrobe/shelving area. Second Floor: Lovely lounge with double sofa bed, 2 armchairs, wall mounted flat screen TV, X-Box, DVDs/games.
Outside: Private Pool set in a large garden. Pool 8m x 4m x 1.3m deep throughout, with sunny poolside terrace, large shady trees, brick built BBQ, garden furniture - hardwood dining set, pair of oversized daybeds, 2 Teak steamer chairs and pads. Airports - Bergerac 25 mins, Bordeaux mins
