You don't have to go too far out your front door or to a tourist attraction to have a good day out and snap some terrific images.
There are so many nature walks and reserves that are a hop, skip, and jump from you that you can get out and enjoy taking some great photos any day of the week.
Withnell Nature Reserve is the walk under the spotlight today, and it a terrific place to spot and photography some of Britain's best wildlife.
Withnell Nature Reserve runs from Abbey Village to Brinscall, and follows the old railway line - this is a beauty spot that I have driven past hundreds of times over the years and no idea was there.
This secluded spot has really allowed wildlife to thrive and there are a whole host of birds, insects, and flowers to spot, identify, and capture.
This excellently developed habitat is a mixture of woodland, areas of water, and open grasslands, to encourage a wide range of wildlife.
Keep your eyes peeled in the trees as they are packed with the likes of Robins, Blue Tit, Blackbird, and the humble pigeon.
However, it is not all about the animals, as Withnell is packed with a wide range of flowers from Yellow Flag Iris, Red Campion, to hedgerow plants such as Hogweed and Hawthorn.
On these local walks, you may find yourself photographing the same flowers time and time again, but practice always makes perfect. And every so often you will snap that gem of an image.
Withnell Nature Reserve is a walk that is off the beaten track, and while there are dog walkers also enjoying the trail, it really is pretty quiet.
Not only does the walk allow you to get the chance to take some great images, but it also gives you the chance to get away from work, clear your mind, and get some exercise.
Over the coming weeks we will be exploring some of the nature spots that are on your doorstep and free to explore.
If you have a local walk of nature spot that you love to photograph, let us know about it.
