The most rootin’ tootin’ land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, at Walt Disney World – Toy Story Land – is now open; after an epic THREE years in development. Inspired by the hit trilogy and created by the film’s protagonist, Andy, guests are invited to become honorary toys, feel tiny and play big.
Will you be visiting Toy Story Land?
This is one of the most delightful experiences ever offered by Walt Disney World – allowing guests to walk a mile in the shoes of one of Andy’s toys (although there won’t be any snakes in boots!). Now we reveal the epic proportions that have gone into making Toy Story Land the BIGGEST destination of the year!
Hang out with your favourite toys
As guests enter the land, they must prepare to be get in the mindset of being the same as their favourite childhood toys, as the land has been constructed using over 400 giant toy building blocks – just like Andy’s bedroom.
Visit Andy’s playground
The land is located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios Andy’s new playground. It spans a whopping 11 acres, that’s the same size as six football pitches!
Feel the size of a toy
Each guest will join the cast and become a toy for the day. One of the first surprises is spotting a to scale Andy’s footprint: an incredible 25ft, the equivalent of a size 240 shoe!
Meet your favourite Toy Story characters
Within Toy Story Land, countless characters from the hit film come to life right alongside guests, including Buzz Lightyear and Woody, who tower over the land. Whilst in the films these are easily stuffed into Andy’s backpack, here they are four times the size of the average ten year old.
Rollercoaster ride for all the family
It’s not just Buzz and Woody that have stepped off the silver screen. The land’s largest attraction features the coolest canine toy – Slinky Dog. Slinky Dog Dash is a family friendly coaster weighing the equivalent of 44,000 Daschunds, Slinky’s breed. Andy has created this with his Dash & Dodge Mega coaster kit, but instead of using the rollercoaster car that came with the kit, he decided to place his beloved Slinky Dog on the track.
Meet the Aliens
It doesn’t stop there! Guests will be taken out of this world when they encounter Alien Swirling Saucers, the playset that Andy won at Pizza Planet restaurant. Guests can ride in one of 22 toy rocket ships through the Pizza Planet Galaxy, as ‘The Claw’ dangerously dangles overhead.
