The Belsfield Laura Ashley hotel was everything you would have expected from a luxury hotel.
Arriving at the hotel, you are instantly attracted to the open glass reception overlooking the lake which completely relaxes and comforts you at the same time.
The décor in the reception area is contemporary and elegant with each piece of furniture carefully selected and placed in accordance. It's obvious that the designers have captured Laura Ashley's style, and have put the effort and their expertise to great use providing a warm and luxurious welcome.
Although we arrived late at night, check-in was simple and straight forward with no issues. Directions to the room are clear with an old-fashioned lift on hand to take you to any floor, if required.
The room was very spacious and clean and boasted two huge windows that overlooked Lake Windermere. The stunning views really set the place alive and made you feel a million miles away from the hustle and bustle despite being a short car drive away from the motorway.
The décor, again, was on point and Laura Ashley's style is maintained throughout the room from delicate furnishings and glamourous chandeliers to glittering mirrors- it's perfect for the aspiring interior designer in you or for anyone who is looking to enjoy a weekend away in a luxury hotel. A selection of Fairtrade tea, coffee and hot chocolate were available as well as fresh milk on request. Complementary toiletries, hairdryer and an iron were also provided. The room definitely ticked all the boxes!
If you want to get out and about during your stay there are lots to do in the Lake District from visiting Beatrix Potter world to enjoying the views of the lake during a romantic boat ride. There are many pubs and cafes to enjoy tea and scones and plenty of shops to spoil yourself. If you want to plan a fun-filled trip you can find all the information about the Lake District and what activities you can do online.
Breakfast was in the main restaurant and didn't disappoint. With a selection of cereals, ham, croissants and fruit as well as a Full-English breakfast, there was something for everyone. It was well displayed and nothing was ever empty. Tea and coffee were brought to you by staff on request and a large selection of juices were also available. The yoghurts were sourced nearby which I thought was a nice touch to the breakfast selection. The views of the lake on the early autumn morning were divine and made you want to get outdoors and explore the Lake District.
Dinner is also in the main restaurant although you have the choice of dining in the bistro which offers a selection of dishes from burgers to chicken to fish. The restaurant offers a 5 meal set menu carefully selected and created by the chef. The meal was delicious, I really couldn't fault it and the waiters were excellent and catered to our every need.
We travelled by car and found that it was well signed and the help of the Sat Nav didn't go a miss!
The stay was wonderful. The hotel overlooking the lake is the perfect setting while you enjoy afternoon tea and the location allows you to travel on foot and explore what the lakes has to offer!
