Flight delays have been named the most annoying things about holidays. Us Brits love to have a moan - even about our vacations and late flights came top of the poll of 1,000 people to reveal the most irritating things likely to put a dampener on our hols.

Packing and unpacking came second, followed by the hotel room not being ready on arrival. The stress of remembering everything came in at number four in the poll whilst lost luggage came fifth.

Suzy Wynbergen, spokesman for once-a-day sun protection brand P20, which carried out the poll said: "As a nation our holidays are really precious. We save our pennies and days off for a fantastic experience, so it’s no wonder things like flight delays really wind us up."

An uncomfortable bed was voted our sixth most annoying, while hearing people moan that it’s too hot came seventh.

People who are afraid to try new food completed the top ten.

"Holiday reps and bumping into other Brits also feature highly in our ‘most annoying’ list which suggests a desire for more adventurous trips abroad" added Suzy.

"Men and women varied in their responses. Comfort was top of mind for our male respondents who cited uncomfortable beds as their third most annoying thing about holidays, whereas the women were more concerned with the stress of remembering everything before leaving for foreign shores."
