The Hilton Manchester Deansgate is easy to locate with a sat nav and has adequate parking in a multi-story opposite, with CCTV. However be warned it is £15.00 per night- however it would be more but if you had in your ticket you get a 15% discount at the hotel!
Having stayed in a few Hiltons now, they tend to be pretty uniform, however this branch has its own bar, Cloud 23 which is available for the general public and hotel guests. If you are staying, book when you check in as its gets very busy- people were queuing outside. Raul kindly booked us in to coincide with the end of our meal at 10.15, which was perfect timing so we didn’t have to rush our meal. The bar is on the 23rd floor and overlooks the skyline of Manchester and by night it is as spectacular sight. The waitress service is prompt so you can sit back and enjoy the view and not worry about going to the bar! There is also a glass floor so you can see right down to the street while in the bar- which is a little unsettling if you are drunk!
Justicia served us at reception and she was very kind and attentive advising us to book in at the bar and restaurant on our stray. She also called the hotel room just as we arrived to check everything was ok with our stay. Again I had not experienced this before, so was very impressed by Justicia’s excellent manner.
In the restaurant, our waiter Jason was poised, friendly and was extremely helpful when it came to ordering. My mum is gluten intolerant and I am lactose intolerant, so he ensured that her bread was specially prepared and that my dishes didn’t include any milky sauces. He also advised my mum on her wine choice. Overall a very enjoyable experience and I would urge anyone staying to pay a visit to the restaurant.
The room itself was on the 18th floor and like the bar had a breath-taking view of Manchester by night, made extra special by the Christmas lights that were scattered about the city. Bottled water, strawberries and chocolates were provided along with a personalised card from the manger, which were all welcoming touches when we first arrived.
The room had bath robes, slippers, plentiful supply of towels, a hairdryer and products to ensure we had everything we needed for comfortable night. Comfort was the understatement as the bed was one of the most delightful I have ever slept in!
We also had access to the executive lounge on the 23rd floor, which was very quiet for breakfast as an alternative to going to the restaurant on the ground floor. All the seats were placed next to the windows so you could absorb the view by day while eating you breakfast. There were continental and hot options to eat as well as fridges stocked full of the wide variety of drinks. The English breakfast was made of high quality ingredients and although it was self-service the friendly staff were always milling round if we needed anything extra.
Overall, I was honoured to stay at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate and encourage anyone staying in the city to pay them a visit. I could not fault any aspect of the hotel and although we didn’t take advantage of the centre, the hotel is ideally placed for shopping and communing to the other areas of the city such as The Trafford Centre.
Thanks to Justicia, Raul and Jason for a memorable experience!
