Packing your holiday clobber
WHAT TO TAKE IN YOUR HAND LUGGAGE -
One vital thing to consider about flying out is deciding what to put into your hand luggage - Especially if you're boarding a long haul flight.
It is then, where you must take several things into consideration: Such as your health needs, hygiene, the need to be entertained, and of course emergency supplies in case your suitcase is missing or you find yourself delayed. This alone tells you, you need to pack a whole lot into that little bag – and it’s not as much as you might think!
7 must-haves to pack in your hand luggage:
1.Make sure you carry a pen and a notepad - the pen for filling out any forms or taking down important notes, whilst you are flying.
2.Pack painkillers, Pro-plus energising tablets, vitamin C, and mints so you are fresh when you arrive after a really long flight.A snack or two wouldn't go amiss either.
3.Phone/Ipod/Laptop/portable DVD player Chargers as some airline have sockets in economy too. (Also a universal adaptor may help in certain regions)
4.Don’t completely rely on the in-flight entertainment as sometimes it is faulty or not to your taste – take a book or magazine.
5.Wet Wipes to freshen up - great for wiping hands/face after meals and also to make everything around you hygienic.
6.Light clothing for the next day, just in case your suitcase gets lost!
7. Flight socks, ear plugs and a cotton eye mask for your own comfort - the ones provided are cheap and not very good!
7 items that will get confiscated from your hand luggage:
1.Multiple Cigarette lighters - You are only allowed one, which needs to placed in a clear plastic bag.
2.Anything liquid (including medicines, make up and drinks) that are over 100ml and measure approximately 20cm x 20cm. Oh yes! And must be placed in the clear plastic bag.
3.Sprays and pressurized containers including shaving foam and spray deodorants
4.Any sharp items such as scissors or drills or even fishing rods!
5.Bludgeons, blackjacks, billy clubs or similar instrument
6.Sport equipment such as bats, badminton rackets,darts, ice skates etc
7.Corkscrew - place it in the hold if needs be!
