As the weather here in the UK starts to fool us into thinking that summer days are fast on their way, that glimpse of sunshine that’s filling our skies with winter warmth is also teasing our minds with the idea of escaping! It’s the most common time of year for us all to be booking or at least thinking about just where we plan to ‘Holiday’ this year. In which case, to lend a helping hand with that quite possible day dream of yours right now, I’d like to take the time to introduce to you the beautiful Greek island resort of Elivi Skiathos.

With their easy access from UK airports, warm climate, delicious food and world-renowned welcoming hospitality, The Greek islands have long been a favourite for Brits wanting a quick and easy trip abroad.

I’ve had the opportunity to explore a number of the famously fabulous islands but last year I spent a week, for the very first time, on the island of Skiathos. The island is based in the North West of the Agean Sea and is part of the Sporades Archipelago and due to the great location of seclusion the resort itself feels like it’s own private island with over 200 acres of land, beautifully separated into three residential areas, each offering their own charm. I stayed in one of the ‘Nest’ villas and my room in particular was stunning, a double supreme deluxe which boasted a private pool (swimming, not just a plunge!) plus a large lounge and outdoor seating area. Inside, the rooms were fresh and spacious with everything you would expect from a five star resort.

The hotel caters for all and as someone who has always been more likely to shy away from ‘resort-style holidays’ my feet were never too itchy to have to leave the grounds. Whether you chose to lounge by one of the larger leisure pools each day or park yourself on one of the 3 beautifully kept beaches you can set a different scene for yourself every day.

The most popular beaches offer two totally different options as to how you would want to spend a day on holiday. Ambeliakia beach is idyllically relaxing and creates the gorgeous backdrop view from the hotel’s main restaurant, it’s the perfect place within the resort to fully ‘unwind’ with it’s cove-like setting and clear calm water . The stretch of sand creates a wonderful illusion of seclusion whilst also being so open to the vast expanse of nature that surrounds where you lie. If lying on the beach with the gentle sound of waves in your ear being the only distraction from turning a page in your latest read then then you’ll find your haven here. The other option, in stark contrast, is Big Banana beach which is far more lively and atmospheric. Hotel guests and visiting locals who are interested in a more active and social day by the sea will head here and stay until the glittering sun sets over the horizon, most likely over the glass rim of a cocktail glass. Both beach fronts offer private beds, refreshment wait service and towels for hotel guests, it’s just up to you which vibe you’re feeling on that particular day.

Elivi is a resort that ticks all the boxes for a luxury trip away, it even managed to keep me within the grounds! I wanted for nothing during my stay and wouldn’t hesitate to rebook... who’s coming with me?
