When the three-part documentary Stephen Tompkinson's Australian Balloon Adventure airs on ITV on 15 August, the viewing public will know what Austravel has always known; nowhere can hold a candle to the land down under.
The stunning scenes of the documentary, which sees the former Ballykissangel star and his pilot navigate severe weather and unique landscapes, will inspire anyone who sees it to visit Australia themselves.
Episode 1:
The opening episode sees Stephen soaring above South Australia and enjoying bird’s eye views of the stunning Flinders Ranges National park, Wilpena Pound – a natural amphitheatre measuring 30 square metres – the wine-producing region of the Barossa Valley and Murray River. Recreate their trip – albeit by land – with Austravel.
Episode 2:
Stephen and his crew head out on the ultimate boys’ adventure, taking them high above Melbourne’s Cricket Ground (MCG), the Olympic Stadium and Melbourne Cup Racecourse, before heading to the thriving city of Sydney. Austravel offers an even more thrilling twin-centre tour which includes a Bondi surf experience, a 30-minute jet-boat ride and bridgeclimb in Sydney and a tour of the MCG and hot air balloon trip the Yarra Valley.
Episode 3:
The final instalment of the series is a Sydney-fest, taking to the skies above the city and its surroundings. Austravel offers a 12-night trip that captures the very essence of this part of the world, including six nights in the city itself plus two-night side trips into the Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley and Port Stephens.
Take your pick from one of these Austravel trips, tailor-made to reflect each of the three episodes.
