Fancy jetting of to Greece this summer but don't want to sit on the beach all day? There are some exciting events planned for 2010 on the Greek island of Rhodes.
The annual Rhodes Flower Parade - May 31st, 2010
On the last Sunday in May every year, the people of Rhodes Town take to the streets to celebrate the coming of summer with a spectacular floral parade.
People dress up in both traditional and less traditional fancy dress, decorating the main street, Mandraki, with hundreds of flowers. Costumes often involve a large number of flowers in the hair and pinned to clothing.
A series of decorated floats parade down Mandraki and the route is lined with stalls selling local food and plenty of the island's wine. This is a spectacular start to the tourist season.
Rhodes Rock – June 16th – 23rd, 2010
For seven days each year, the best tribute acts from around Europe play in this unique classic rock festival in Lindos. During the early 1970’s Pink Floyd made Lindos one of their bases and David Gilmour still owns a villa in the village.

Classic Rock Tours’ VIP holiday package includes return flights, transfers, seven nights accommodation, best tickets for all shows with access to the front of stage VIP area and free entry to the extra events and parties with the bands. VIP packages are available based on two guests staying in a Lindos Village Studio and flying from Gatwick. Regional flights, choice of accommodation & 14-night holiday packages are also available.
