London to Miami- 25 Years
Flights between the two cities launched in 1986 as Virgin Atlantic’s second ever route after New York.
Since launch the airline has carried around 4.5 million passengers on the route contributing over $7.4bn to the Miami tourism economy.
Virgin Atlantic’s London to Miami aircraft, the second route Virgin Atlantic launched, have flown 67 million miles to and from Miami since 1986 and served over 5 million meals and ice creams.
Upper Class and Premium Economy passengers have enjoyed over 165,000 bottles of champagne, which equates to 999,000 glasses served since launch. The millionth glass may well have been served on the anniversary flight!
