Prague

Prague

Spring and early summer are ideal times to explore European cities and not only visit famous sites, fine restaurants and shopping haunts but also enjoy some of the best local festivals and events.

Prague

For over two weeks Prague will be celebrating their long tradition of brewing at the Czech Beer Festival, 14th-30th May. You will get the chance to sample more than 50 brands of Czech beer as well as local specialities and delicacies. And to make life easier, the festival has its own currency – Tolar – to ensure a queue-free experience.

Barcelona

Enjoy a stellar line-up packed with acts, such as Pet Shop Boys, The Charlatans and Pixies at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound Festival, 27th-29th May. Taking place in Parc del Forum, you can watch your favourite indie and underground acts, whist enjoying some early sunshine.

Berlin
Berlin
Inspired by the Notting Hill Carnival, Karneval der Kulturen, 21st-24th May, is a celebration of Berlin’s cultural diversity. Enjoy a parade of floats, hundreds of musicians, colourful costumes and hours of fun.

Paris

Every year on 24th June, the French capital celebrates the shortest night of the year with a massive fireworks display from the top of Ile Saint-Louis, whilst thousands watch from the Quai Saint-Bernard. The ‘Midsummer Fireworks’ is a free event and it is a great add on to your city break.

Venice
Venice
Vogalonga, 23rd May, is a chaotically wonderful day during which hundreds of amateur and professional locals and visitors take part in a rowing race along various Venetian canals and historic buildings.  The race is of the city’s biggest events featuring a variety of traditional boats, eye-catching costumes and sailor uniforms.
