Penelope Cruz has been hanging out in the Canaries
Are you sick of going to the same place, doing the same things and coming back having put on a stone over the course of a fortnight? Well why not do something different this summer?
Okay, so we can’t guarantee you’ll still fit into that teeny weeny bikini by the end of your stay, but why not get your ass up from that sunbed this summer and prance around like a movie star for a day?
The Canaries have long been an established holiday favourite, but this year the beauty of two islands – Lanzarote and Tenerife – landed them the star roles in two upcoming blockbuster movies: Pedro Almodóvar’s Broken Embraces starring Penelope Cruz and the remake of the Clash of the Titans with Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes.
In addition, the Canaries are also set to be the backdrop for the remake of Oscar-winning prison-break classic Papillon, to be directed by Branko Lustig of Shindler’s List and Gladiator fame and rumoured to star Robert Downey Jnr and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
So before you start thinking you need to head over to Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills to feel like a movie star then stop right there, unpack your killer heels and book yourself a break in the Canaries.
Okay, so you might not bump into Johnny Depp or George Clooney, but think of all that extra cash you’ll save… you can treat yourself to a little black dress or huge floppy sunhat… Audrey Hepburn eat your hear out!
