Who would you like to spend time with here?

Young people are no longer content with romanticising about frolicking in the waves with hot pop princesses, Hollywood babes or football mavericks  according to social travel site Gogobot.

Both sexes herald brains over beauty as they vote Stephen Fry as their dream companion to share a holiday.

Men and women differed on where they would most like to impress their dream celebrity, whilst women seek sun, sea and sanctuary in Hawaii, with men opting for gambling in Las Vegas.

Research carried out by Gogobot, revealed that under 25s admitted to wanting something a little more high-brow, opting for the British writer, comedian and tech enthusiast over pop pin-up Cheryl Cole.

Chezza needn’t worry though, as across all age groups she remained firmly in the top spot, with Stephen Fry a close second snapping at her heels. National icon, David Beckham came in third, followed by Hollywood heartthrob Johnny Depp and ITV This Morning host Holly Willoughby rounded off the top five.

The findings emerged in a new study of 1,000 people in the UK, and revealed that sun-dodging Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp, was firmly placed as women over 25s number one choice, followed by Stephen Fry and David Beckham. Simon Cowell will have even more reason to crow after beating out Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt to fourth place and gaining a third more votes than George Clooney who limped in eighth.

Cheryl Cole was rated top of the list by men, and both Holly Willoughby and X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos also ranked within the top five. Between the Middleton sisters, Pippa snatched the crown from her sister and proved more popular with men.

Unsurprisingly, proving his popularity with both men and women David Beckham placed third on every list overall.

Travis Katz, CEO of Gogobot said: “The mix of celebrities people would choose as ideal travel companions highlights just how diverse our taste is when it comes to holidays. Whilst we might never get lucky enough to sit back and sip Sangria with the likes of Cheryl Cole, there’s no reason why we can’t all get the most out of our dream holiday.

“There is so much choice when it comes to planning a holiday that it can sometimes be difficult to work out what we want most. Sharing ideas and getting recommendations with your friends be it to visit the latest celeb hangout or go for something quieter, goes a long way in taking the stress out of the unknown.”
