Or take the steam train from Douglas to Port Erin where on arrival you can either explore the town at your leisure or relax on one of the Island’s most beautiful sandy beaches and enjoy a delicious Manx ice-cream.
The landmarks that populate the Isle of Man offer a truly beautiful setting in which to discover its rich history and heritage. Castle Rushen, fortress of the Kings and Lords of Mann, is one of Europe’s most complete and finely preserved medieval castles. Or why not take an electronic tour of Peel Castle in the West of the Island and learn not only about the remarkable castle ruins, which date back to Viking times, but also the archaeological remains discovered below ground.
