Where will yours take you?

Where will yours take you?

SKODA UK have found that the pressures of the 9-5, with the same day in and out is taking its toll on Brits, making them seriously consider moving abroad for a new pace of life. We hear some of the most common complaints that lead to a desire for more.

TOP FIVE REASONS FOR WANTING TO ESCAPE

I’m fed-up of the daily grind- Work can feel like Groundhog day, with one day like the next, like the next, like the next. All ended by a weekend that consists of the same routine of meal out and cinema, a few drinks, your weekly shop and then getting ready to do it all again the week after.

I feel like I’m stuck in a rut- There is nothing worse than feeling like you are stuck and can’t do anything to get out of it. The job market is too slow, or you don’t have enough money to go on holiday, or have a night out.

I feel like I need a new adventure- When your idea of an adventure is changing the weekly shop from a Friday to a Saturday, then things like bungee jumping, white water rafting or moving abroad seem more and more appealing, with each working week that passes.

I’m not happy in my job- When you are- it shines through and you go the extra mile and work right through till five. If you want to drive your car off a bridge as your head to your office or feel like crying because time feels like it’s a standstill, then something needs to change.

I’m fed up with the British weather- Dark nights, rainy days and cool climates can get the best of people down. You look at holiday you can’t afford and dream of being somewhere sunny and light. And so the quest for a new place abroad begins!

Sarah Chapman, communications manager for SKODA UK, which commissioned the research to mark the launch of the SKODA Yeti and Yeti outdoor, said:

“These results confirm that deep down, a large number of us are dreaming of fulfilling our sense of adventure.

“Everyone has days where they get fed up with the monotony of the day-to-day life, thinking of nothing else but the weekend.

“Then you can let your hair down and do what you want to do rather than what you have to do.

“While many will make do with their lot, it seems there are some who are making serious plans to pack it all in and embark on a new adventure.”
